Реабілітаційний центр бурих ведмедів став раєм для клишоногих
Згідно даних Червоної книги, популяція бурих ведмедів в Україні нараховує близько 300 особин. Також є певна кількість клишоногих, що утримуються у неволі. В окремих випадках для тих ведмедів створені неналежні умови, або ж утримуються вони з порушенням природоохоронного законодавства. Тож постало питання про утворення спеціалізованого центру реабілітації ведмедів. За фінансування Міністерства екології та природних ресурсів України, будівництво такого центру на площі 12 га розпочато влітку 2011 року у національному природному парку «Синевир», що на Закарпатті.
Мета нового центру – реабілітація особин бурого ведмедя, які зазнали жорстокого поводження і утримувалися в неволі з порушенням законодавства.
Побудувати центр для бурих ведмедів вирішено в НПП «Синевир» не випадково, адже ця територія за ландшафтними та кліматичними умовами відповідає природному середовищу існування цих тварин.
Відкриття Реабілітаційного центру бурих ведмедів відбулося 13 грудня 2011 року. На той час спеціалізований заклад прихистив двох тварин – Дюрія і Бубочку. Семирічного 300-кілограмованого самця привезли з приватного господарства Рахівщини, а трирічну самку з Харківщини. Згодом центр поповнився іншими ведмедями, які утримувалися в неволі з порушенням законодавства. Зараз тут перебуває 25 особин цього виду. Вони були вилучені у їх власників з різних регіонів України, а саме: з Вінницької, Закарпатської, Запорізької, Київської, Луганської, Львівської, Рівненської, Тернопільської, Харківської, Хмельницької областей.

Найбільш резонансною стала історія порятунку ведмедя Потапа. Він «прославився» на всю Україну одразу після репортажу одного з центральних телеканалів. Ця тварина утримувалася у тісній клітці кінноспортивного клубу «Барс», що у Луганську. До того ж, на звіра було натягнуто ще й ошийник.
Тварина жила у муках. Ошийник натягнуто, коли він був ще ведмежатком. Звір ріс, а ошийник врізався у тіло і душив. Люди, що знали про цей випадок і шкодували ведмедя, пропонували господарю викупити його, та той категорично відмовлявся, мотивуючи це тим, що тоді не буде на кого нацьковувати собак. Господар тварини агресивно ставився до тих, хто намагався полегшити життя бідолашного ведмедя, навіть до журналістів, які й зробили розголос цієї історії.
Вже наступного дня після репортажу на телебаченні, до власника Потапа навідалася екологічна інспекція, а у національному природному парку «Синевир» негайно почали готуватися до виїзду за твариною, яка потребувала якомога скорішої реабілітації.
Ветеринари також зробили свою справу: зняли ошийник, для цього довелося приспати тварину і провести відповідну операцію.
Від ошийника на шиї ведмедя залишився рожевий слід. В той же час за справу взялися правоохоронці і 22 лютого 2012 року Кам’янобрідський районний суд міста Луганська постановив притягнути до адміністративної відповідальності керівника клубу «Барс», а Потапа – конфіскувати. Тож коли до Луганська зі спеціальним реанімаційним автомобілем для звірів прибули фахівці національного природного парку «Синевир» та їх закордонні колеги, особливих перешкод для вилучення і транспортування ведмедя не було.

«Ми оцінили клінічну картину, і хоча на шиї була велика рана, прийнято рішення, що тварина готова до транспортування, – згадує Михайло Маслей, ветлікар Реабілітаційного центру бурих ведмедів НПП «Синевир», котрий брав участь у порятунку Потапа. – Коли були оформлені всі необхідні документи, ведмедю дали препарат для загальної анестезії. Як тільки він заснув, то обробили рану на шиї, перевірили ротову порожнину і вкололи вакцину проти сказу. Це дуже важливо, оскільки на ведмедя нацьковували собак, які є потенційними носіями цієї хвороби. Зробивши усі необхідні ветеринарні заходи, ми завантажили тварину у спеціальну клітку і вирушили в дорогу. Через 10 хвилин Потап уже проснувся і, звичайно, почав нервувати, що є природною реакцією. Він навіть пошкодив клітку, але все обійшлося добре».
Подорож відстанню понад півтора тисячі кілометрів була важкою не лише для ведмедя, але й людей, які проводили цю операцію. Та все пройшло успішно. Опівночі, 28 лютого 2012 року Потап був уже на території національного природного парку «Синевир», де його випустили у спеціальну клітку. На нового жителя спеціалізованого закладу з цікавістю дивилися не лише співробітники парку, але й ведмеді Дюрій, Роза та Бубочка, що вже звикли до хороших умов, які їм створені, і почуваються тут справжніми господарями. До речі, зараз Потап заліг у зимову сплячку.
Зворушлива історія про цього ведмедя отримала щасливий кінець, а все могло бути інакше. Тварина могла загинути. Важке життя зробило Потапа зіркою і зараз подивитися на нього приходить чимало охочих, хто переймається його долею. Не менше вражає історія ведмедя Бені. Його було врятовано з рук жорстоких людей у Вінницькій області, які використовували звіра з метою прибутку, натомість довели його до важкого атрофічного стану. Через критичне недоїдання і «дресирування» на розжареній плиті, тварина виснажилася настільки, що стала схожою на істоту з фільмів жахів. На щастя, страждання 10-річного Бені закінчилися. Він перевезений до Реабілітаційного центру бурих ведмедів, де зараз живе у напіввільних умовах.
Тварини, які потрапляють до центру, проходять карантин, відповідні щеплення, а відтак здійснюється їх адаптація до напіввільних умов перебування. Отже, значні зусилля центру спрямовані на санітарне, ветеринарне, харчове забезпечення звірів. Складено раціон, який внормовано за поживними речовинами, макро- і мікроелементами та білками для кожного ведмедя індивідуально. Це сприяло забезпечення тварин повноцінною їжею. Вони додали в рості і вазі.
Для ведмедів у центрі обладнані басейни для купання, штучні барлоги. Тут також наявні природні плантації чорниці, малини і ожини. Територія реабілітаційного центру обгороджена металічною сіткою. Оскільки діяльність даного закладу передбачає відвідування туристів, при спорудженні огорожі особлива увага зверталася на її міцність і надійність. Для охорони і надійного утримання звірів, по периметру огорожі встановлено систему електричного захисту. Реалізація даного проекту дозволила не лише взяти під захист тварин, що зазнали жорстокого поводження, але й дала позитивний імпульс для розвитку наукової, еколого-освітньої та рекреаційної роботи, що відповідає меті та завданням, які покладені на НПП «Синевир».

So the question arose about the creation of a specialized center for rehabilitation of bears. For the financing of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the construction of such a center on an area of 12 hectares was started in summer, 2011 in the National Nature Park "Synevyr" in Transcarpathia.
The purpose of the new center is the rehabilitation of individuals of brown bear who were abused and kept in captivity in violation of the law. The construction of a center for brown bears decided at NNP "Synevyr" is not accidental, because the territory in terms of landscape and climatic conditions corresponds to the natural habitat of these animals.

The opening of the Rehabilitation Center for brown bears took place on December 13, 2011. By that time, the specialized institution was protecting two animals - Dyuri and Bubochka. A seven-year-old 300-kilogram male was brought from the private economy of Rakhiv, and a three-year-old female from Kharkiv oblast. Subsequently, the center was replenished by other bears, which were kept in captivity in violation of the law. Now there are 25 individuals of this species. They were removed from their owners from different regions of Ukraine, namely: from Vinnytsya, Transcarpathia, Zaporozhya, Kiev, Luhansk, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky regions.
The most resonant story was the rescue of Bear Potap. He "became famous" for the whole of Ukraine immediately after reporting one of the central TV channels. This animal was kept in a tight cage of the Equestrian Club "Bars", which is in Lugansk. In addition, the animal was tightened and the collar. The animal lived in torment. The collar is stretched when it was still a bearish. The beast grew, and the collar crashed into the body and choked. People who knew about this incident and sorry for the bear suggested that the owner redeem it, but he categorically refused, motivating it so that then there would be no one to trick the dogs. The owner of the animal was aggressive towards those who tried to ease the lives of the poor bear, even to journalists who made the story public.
Already the next day after reporting on television, the environmental inspectorate visited the owner of Potap, and in the national natural park "Synevyr" immediately began preparing for the departure of the animal, which needed the fastest possible rehabilitation.
Veterinarians also did their thing: they removed the collar, for this it was necessary to lull the animal and carry out the appropriate operation. From the collar on the neck of the bear there was a pink trail. At the same time, law enforcement officers took up the case, and on February 22, 2012, the Kamianobryd district court of Lugansk decided to bring the Bars club leader to administrative responsibility and Potap to confiscate. So when specialists from the Synevyr National Natural Park and their foreign colleagues arrived in Luhansk with a special reanimation vehicle for animals, there was no particular obstacle to the removal and transportation of the bear.
"We appreciated the clinical picture, and although the neck was a big wound, it was decided that the animal is ready for transportation," recalls Michael Masley, a veterinarian at the Rehabilitation Center for the brown bears of the NNP "Synevyr", who took part in the rescue of Potap. - When all the necessary documents were completed, was given a drug for general anesthesia. As soon as he fell asleep, he treated the wound around his neck, examined the oral cavity and injected the vaccine against rabies. This is very important as the bear hunts dogs that are potential carriers of this disease. Having taken all necessary veterinary measures, we loaded the animal in a special cage and went on the road. After 10 minutes, Potap has already woken up and, of course, began to feel nervous that it is a natural reaction. He even damaged the cage, but everything went well. "
A journey of more than a half thousand kilometers distance was difficult not only for the bear, but also for the people who carried out the operation. But everything went well. At midnight on February 28, 2012, Potap was already on the territory of the National Natural Park "Synevyr", where he was released into a special cage. The new resident of the specialized institution looked not only at the park's staff, but also the bears Duriy, Rosa and Bubochka, who had become accustomed to the good conditions they created and feel real masters here. By the way, now Potap is in the winter hibernation. A moving story about this bear was a happy ending, and everything could have been different. The animal could perish. Potap's star-starter made her hard life, and now look at him a lot of people who are interested in his fate.
No less impressive is the story of Bear Benny. He was rescued from the hands of brutal people in the Vinnytsia region, who used the animal to profit, but instead brought him to a severe atrophic state. Because of critical malnutrition and "training" on a hot plate, the animal was exhausted so much that it was similar to a creature from horror films. Fortunately, the suffering of the 10-year-old Beny is over. He was transported to the Rehabilitation Center of the brown bears, which now lives in semi-free conditions.
Animals that enter the center undergo quarantine and vaccination, and thus their adaptation to half-free conditions of stay. Consequently, the center's efforts are focused on the sanitary, veterinary, food supply of animals. A diet is created that is customized for nutrients, macro- and trace elements and proteins for each bear individually. This contributed to providing animals with high-quality food. They added in height and weight. For bears in the center there are swimming pools, artificial barges. There are also natural plantations of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. The territory of the rehabilitation center is fenced with a metal grid. Since the activity of this institution involves visiting tourists, when erecting the fence special attention was drawn to its strength and reliability. For the protection and reliable maintenance of animals, the perimeter of the fence installed electrical protection system.
Implementation of this project allowed not only to protect the animals that were abused, but also gave a positive impetus to the development of scientific, environmental, educational and recreational work, which corresponds to the purpose and tasks assigned to the NNP "Synevyr".
